Creating an alert
- 1Sign in with Google — alerts are tied to your e-mail address and need an account.
- 2Open the chart workspace, pick the venue and symbol, and check the current price.
- 3Press “Add price alert” to land on your account page with the symbol and current price pre-filled.
- 4Choose the direction — crossing up or crossing down — enter the level and save.
An alert on a line you drew
Most of the levels a trader watches are not fixed numbers, they are sloped lines: a rising support that lifts every day, or a falling resistance that drops. In the chart workspace draw the line, select it, and press the bell in the tool rail. The line's two endpoints are stored with the alert and the level is recomputed at every check, so the alert travels with the line instead of falling behind it.
- 1Pick the trend-line or ray tool and drag low to low for support, or high to high for resistance.
- 2Switch back to the select tool, click the line so it is selected, then press the bell.
- 3The alert appears as a dashed line running alongside yours, carrying a tag with the level right now.
- 4A horizontal line keeps a fixed level; a perfectly vertical line is refused, because it has no single level.
In the alerts panel and on the alert card inside the chart you see a “trend line” tag next to the level's speed as a percentage per day, so you know how far your condition climbs or falls before price reaches it.
How an alert is checked
Checks run on the server, not in your browser, so an alert works while you are offline. Active alerts are collected every five minutes, each symbol's price is read from its public venue, and the value is compared with the condition. When it is met, a notification goes to every device where you enabled them plus an e-mail from notify.chartxpert.ai, and the alert is marked as triggered.
every 5 minutes ├─ load active alerts ├─ read current price per symbol (public venue) ├─ level: fixed number, or the drawn line's value now ├─ symbol muted? ── yes ─> skip ├─ already sent? ─ yes ─> price pulled back 0.15%? ─> arm again ├─ crossed? ── no ──> keep waiting │ └─ yes ─> push to devices + one e-mail │ once: close · repeat: wait for next touch └─ done
Once, or on every touch
Every alert has two modes. The default is one-shot: the first crossing reaches you and the alert closes, which suits a break you are waiting for once. The second is repeating: the alert stays active after it sends, but it does not fire again straight away — it waits for price to pull away from the level and come back. The pull-back it waits for is small (about 0.15% of the level), and that is what stops a single candle wobbling on the line from sending you a burst of messages.
- 1When you create the alert on your account page, tick “repeating alert” before saving.
- 2Or press the alert tag on the chart and switch the row between “fires once only” and “repeats on every touch”.
- 3Turning repeat on for an alert that already fired revives it, so you never have to re-create it.
- 4The touch counter shows on the tag card and in the alerts panel, and every message carries its touch number.
Notifications on your phone
- 1Open your account page on the phone, press “Enable notifications”, and allow them when the browser asks.
- 2On iPhone, add the site to your home screen from the share menu first — notifications work from the installed app.
- 3Repeat on each device you want alerted; the notification is delivered to every registered device.
- 4If you revoke permission in browser settings, that device goes quiet while the e-mail keeps working.
Muting a single symbol
On a volatile day one symbol can turn noisy while you still want the rest running. Muting works per symbol from the alerts panel: the alert stays saved but sends neither a notification nor an e-mail until you unmute it.
What arrives
- ▸The symbol, the venue, the condition type, the alert level and the price it was met at.
- ▸The trigger time in UTC and a direct link back to the same symbol in the chart workspace.
- ▸One notification on your devices and one e-mail per hit — on a repeating alert each message carries its touch number.
Limits worth knowing
- ▸Five-minute resolution: an alert is not an execution tool, and price can cross the level and return between two checks.
- ▸Alerts cover crypto symbols from the supported public venues, because live data today is crypto only.
- ▸A phone notification needs permission on each device; if permission is denied, the e-mail stands alone.
- ▸A brief venue outage may delay a single check; the next cycle retries without losing the alert.
- ▸Your alert is visible only to you and can be deleted at any time from your account page.
